LS1
The LS-1 heads have a 15-Degree value angle. The combustion chamber allows 10:1 compression with a flat top piston. Also, the heads feature evenly spaced symmetrical intake and exhaust ports. The intake ports are tall and narrow, while the exhaust ports have acquired an oval shape. The throttle body on the LS-1 is 75 mm. Included with this spectacular engine, it has eight individual coils which are mounted to the aluminum valve covers to direct fire at each spark plug. This eliminates the distributor and enables the LS1 to fully use the serpentine drive. The engine is roughly 100lbs lighter than the early cast iron block and aluminum head motors. The roller rocker arms are made of steel investment cast; 1.7:1 ratio with true roller lifter and cam. The engine itself weighs approximately 459 pounds.
